A Personal Story

Brigadier

Brigadier NCube

Brigadier NCube is a student of the 51福利 of Commerce and Management. He is a student who has a clear career goal in place and is currently studying his THIRD course with the College to ensure he has the necessary qualifications to get where he wants to be.

With the recent introduction of Government Subsidies, especially in NSW, achieving your goals has never been easier. The Smart and Skilled program offers funding to NSW residents to help them gain the qualifications they need to succeed in a career they want. It's also a great opportunity to get the formal acknowledgement of the skills and knowledge that you already have.

We caught up with Brigadier to ask him about his recent experience with the 51福利 of Commerce and Management and why education is so important to him.

Why did you choose to study with the 51福利 of Commerce and Management?

The college offered very competitive prices, probably the best I have seen anywhere and the level of support you receive is second to none.

What was the first course you chose to study and why?

The first course I studied through the college was the Diploma of Finance and Mortgage Broking Management because I was looking at furthering my career path into the mortgage broking industry, which I now have done successfully and all thanks to the help I received from the college.

During your first course, how did you find the resources that were on offer to you?

The delivery of the workbooks was probably the second best part of my study, second only to the incredible assistance received from the student advisers because they offered up to date industry rules and legislation and they were detailed in regard to what you might expect once you begin working.

How helpful were the Student Advisers during your course?

Their help was immeasurable, the course would have been ten times more difficult and would have taken twice as long to get through it if it was not for the exceptional help from the student advisors. Whilst they wouldn鈥檛 just give you the answers but they would talk you through the issues you may have to make sure you understand it and that you come up with the answer yourself. Again, the assistance from the student advisors is certainly the best part of the college.

Was there a Student Adviser that stood out to you?

I cannot complain about any of the advisers, Joe Hinge was incredibly helpful during my first course which was the Diploma of Finance and Mortgage Broking as I was totally new to the industry I gained a lot of wisdom and knowledge from her from the countless times I rang the college with questions. I also greatly appreciated the assistance from Sharon Rich and Linda has been amazing since she started assisting me during my General Insurance study and now into my Project Management as she is always consistent in getting in touch and making sure I鈥檓 going well with my studies. Overall, I have been overly impressed with the level of professionalism and industry knowledge from all the student advisers that I have had the privilege to get assistance from during my study with the college.

What other courses did you go on to study and why?

After successfully completing my first Diploma which was Finance and Mortgage Broking Management, I went on to successfully complete my Diploma of General Insurance and now I am working on completing my Diploma in Project Management. The reasons being simply, that I am looking at furthering my career and making sure I have all the necessary qualifications to do so.

What are your plans for the future?

As evident from my studies, I plan on working in the finance and insurance industry with the possibility of potential moving into Project Management later on in life. At this stage the plan is to begin a Financial Services business.

Do you think that the qualifications you have achieved with the College have played an important role in these plans? Or have they helped towards achieving your future goals?

Absolutely, I wouldn鈥檛 be in my current role as a mortgage broker if it wasn鈥檛 for the qualification through the college. Certainly, the studies I have completed and still yet to complete are helping in achieving both my current and future goals.

If your friends, family or colleagues asked you about the College, what would you tell them?

If you want to study at an affordable price, with the flexibility that most colleges don鈥檛 offer and get the best possible support from the student advisers then this is the college for you.

Finally, tell us about your overall experience with the College.

Amazing, have absolutely loved my experience. Firstly, the courses are very affordable compared to most college, the website is clear, straightforward and easy to understand. Webclass provides all the information you need to be able to easily and successfully complete the course.   I also liked the fact that I don鈥檛 have to pay upfront all my fees but rather I can use Vet-Fee Help which is great especially if you don鈥檛 have the funds to pay all your fees upfront. The delivery of the workbook as PDF files is very handy as it allows you to have the workbooks on your tablet and the assessment task on your computers and that creates convenience when working through the tasks.   And lastly, the assistance from the student advisors is the best around, they have the industry knowledge and the ability to not just give you the answers and send you your merry way but rather they talk you through what ever issues you to make sure you understand and you will have to come up with the answers yourself.   Overall, I would highly rate this college and recommend it to anyone who is looking at getting nationally recognised qualifications.
